Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymph is a pretty stealth system of the body. Sometimes called the clean up crew, the sewer system, or the hidden hero. The lymphatic system is a circulatory system that sorts out toxin removal in the body. Unlike the blood’s movement driven largely by the pumping of the heart, the lymph system mostly moves lymph as a secondary process resulting from breathing, muscle contractions and general movement.
For time immemorial various indigenous and BIPOC community massage modalities have stimulated lymph circulation in practice.
Our training in MLD is through the Dr. Estrid and Emil Vodder school techniques. “Dr. Vodder method of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a method developed in France in the 1930s. It is used…to enhance fluid movement in the skin. It also has a very powerful relaxing and calming effect on the nervous system. The gentle, rhythmic, pumping, massage movements follow the direction of lymph flow and produce rapid results…This is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique that has a powerful effect on the body.” Research in Australia, Europe and North America has proven its efficacy as a stand-alone treatment and in combination with other therapies for digestion, sleep support, sports recovery, arthritis, headaches, chronic pain, lessening the grip of trauma’s impact on the autonomic nervous system, among others (Source: Dr Vodder International).
More advanced treatment includes MLD for whiplash, burns, migraines, tinnitus, CRPS, stroke, supination trauma for the ankle, knee arthroplasty, cruciate ligament repair, adhesive capsulitis and hip pathologies. Our studio does not provide complex lymphedema treatment or management at this time.

Neuromuscular Therapy Massage:
This is a complicated way of saying using the bodies own systems to help restore balance, increase mobility, and decrease pain. Our body uses proprioception to figure out where it is in space. Ever wonder why you don’t need to look at each step when you’re walking? Proprioception! But sometimes this gets messed up. Sometimes because of posture, injury, trauma, repetitive movement, and so on. Sometimes trigger points can form causing a lot of pain in surrounding areas!
By using your own body naturally we can help you recover faster from injury, increase your mobility, and decrease discomfort safely and respectfully!
Neuromuscular Therapy is great for people with:
hyper mobility / sprains / strains
trauma / PTSD / CPTSD
chronic pain / postural pain
numbness / nerve entrapment
injury recovery
neurodiversity / ADHD / autism
